On this blog, I will be sorting Star Trek characters into Hogwarts houses based on their personalities and character types. This is a just-for-fun project I started in my free time and it's not to be taken seriously; just a fun way to practice making graphics and to combine my two favourite series, Star Trek and Harry Potter. I am going to try and sort as many characters as possible from ALL the Star Trek series.
You probably will not agree with me on all my sorting choices and that's okay. A lot of characters are very ambiguous – for example, I spent a long time debating whether Kirk was a Slytherin or a Gryffindor. Again, this is just for fun.
Feel free to send an ask with suggestions on what characters you'd like to be sorted next!
Starfleet-Houses » Guinan: In Guinan’s own words; “I’m Guinan. I tend bar, and I listen.” She is detached, mysterious, eccentric, and ethereal - but also very helpful, wise, and a go-to for a lot of the crew members when it comes to advice. She keeps her calm and refrains from outwardly rash actions, preferring to stay in the quiet of Ten-Forward. She is sorted into Ravenclaw House.
Starfleet-Houses » Lieutenant Reginald Barclay: As a Slytherin, Reg sort of lacks confidence and charm, but he does have ambition, set goals he would put everything towards, and a rationing of his decent intelligence and cleverness towards his goals. During his touch with abnormal intelligence, he experiences an amplification of the person he could become. He’s pragmatic and definetly has his vices, his perfect fantasy world on the holodeck. He is absolutely relentless in the Pathfinder project, pragmatic, and pursues what he wants - his dream of being accepted into the Voyager crew as a friend - regardless of the limitations, going against what the authorities tell him to do. He is sorted into Slytherin House.
Starfleet-Houses » Ambassador Lwaxana Troi: Flirtatious, flighty, ever-changing except for her taste for the flamboyant and luxurious, Lwaxana is quite a ‘cheery’ Slytherin. She’s very stubborn, ambitious (especially with her love interests) demanding, capricious and a touch vengeful. Despite being a Betazoid, she can be a little insensitive and gets under the skin of many people.
Starfleet-Houses » Commander William T. Riker: Keen on adventuring, determined, a romantic, often stubborn and reluctant to bend away from what he knows well, very courageous and steadfastly loyal to his Captain, Riker is quite the picture of a Gryffindor. He’s got a good sense of humour and friendliness, as well as a strong moral code. He is sorted into Gryffindor House.
Starfleet-Houses » Wesley Crusher: A young genius, Wesley is very enthusiastic about learning as much as he can. He views Picard with reverence and follows in his footsteps, learning from his mistakes and successes. His intelligence and young age makes him a bit separated from other people his age and the rest of the crew; he’s seen as an unusual example and talented individual. Regardless, Wesley strives for the best in all areas of Starfleet, aiming to make the Captain and his mother proud. He is sorted into Ravenclaw House.
Starfleet-Houses » Zefram Cochrane: The famous inventor of the warp drive, Zefram Cochrane aided humans into a new age of stellar exploration. However, even though future generations remembered him as a brilliant scientist, Cochrane’s actual personality was more complex. Cynical, selfish, crude and impulsive, Cochrane tended to live life ‘on the edge’ and indulged himself in many earthly pleasure like money, substances and women. He built the warp drive not with a goal to help humanity, but for personal gain, to get himself money and to put hmself as the person who would break the economic crisis in America during the Third World War. It’s his selfish ambition, aloofness, abrasiveness and slight ignorance towards the true implication of his invention that places Cochrane in Slytherin House.
Starfleet-Houses » Counselor Deanna Troi: As a half-Betazoid, Deanna is naturally in tune with the emotions of her crewmates, and this helps her to have strong, loyal bonds to the people on the ship. As a psychologist, her goal is to ensure the crew’s happiness and healthiness. She is also known to be selfless, concentrating so much on the feelings of others that she doesn’t stop to consider her own. Her unique abilities make her a vital part of the crew, and with her amazing interpersonal skills, she is placed in Hufflepuff House.
Starfleet-Houses » Captain Jean-Luc Picard: A deeply intelligent man and a fearless leader, Picard is bold, courageous, authoritative, and has a very strong sense of morality and justice. He trusts his own judgements in drawing the lines between right and wrong, and perserveres through many hardships while remaining a well-respected and well-liked leader. Fiercely independent and stalwart, Picard is an exemplary member of Gryffindor House.
