On this blog, I will be sorting Star Trek characters into Hogwarts houses based on their personalities and character types. This is a just-for-fun project I started in my free time and it's not to be taken seriously; just a fun way to practice making graphics and to combine my two favourite series, Star Trek and Harry Potter. I am going to try and sort as many characters as possible from ALL the Star Trek series.
You probably will not agree with me on all my sorting choices and that's okay. A lot of characters are very ambiguous – for example, I spent a long time debating whether Kirk was a Slytherin or a Gryffindor. Again, this is just for fun.
Feel free to send an ask with suggestions on what characters you'd like to be sorted next!
Starfleet-Houses » Winn Adami: Over the course of DS9, Kai Winn shows her true colours. As a power-hungry, controlling, ambitious and jealous woman who cannot stand to have events unfold any way but her own, she is sorted into Slytherin House.
Starfleet-Houses » Gul Dukat: As one of the main antagonists in Star Trek DS9, Gul Dukat is pretty exemplary of the evil Slytherin type, being ruthless, vengeful, picky with his loyalties, underhanded, determined, and man does he know how to hold a grudge. He is sorted into Slytherin House.
Starfleet-Houses » Kes: As an Occampa, Kes has a short lifespan. Knowing this, she is always confident in the decisions she makes about her life and which direction to take it in; she follows Neelix loyally along with Voyager, and develops strong friendships with many of the crew members. When she knows it is time for her to leave, she does so - she’s grounded, strong, and loyal, but not quite stubborn. She knows what is best for her, but also has a sense of empathy to other beings. Her friendship with the Doctor/EMH shows off her Hufflepuff personality most brightly; she encourages him and helps him on his way to evolving into a more human being, and stands by his side dutifully.
Starfleet-Houses » Guinan: In Guinan’s own words; “I’m Guinan. I tend bar, and I listen.” She is detached, mysterious, eccentric, and ethereal - but also very helpful, wise, and a go-to for a lot of the crew members when it comes to advice. She keeps her calm and refrains from outwardly rash actions, preferring to stay in the quiet of Ten-Forward. She is sorted into Ravenclaw House.
Starfleet-Houses » Keiko O’Brien: Keiko is very family and friendship oriented. The well-being of others holds a special place in her heart, as evidenced a lot in her part on DS9 where she is always supportive of Miles and his associates, and works to establish a school where she can teach the children living aboard the station. She’s very steadfast. trusting and strongly loyal, and is able to stay with Miles throughout his career despite difficulties with her botanist career.
Starfleet-Houses » Q Junior: Junior has some of his parents’ best ‘Q-like’ qualities that are truly his best qualities. Despite his erratic behaviour, malicious sense of humour and disregard for any rules made by mortal, like his father, Q Junior has shown that he can learn from mortals, learn to be around them and learn their values. His adaptibility, ambition, need to prove himself, and need to break away from the ‘purpose’ that was set out for him since his birth puts him in Slytherin House.
Starfleet-Houses » Lt.Commander Montgomery “Scotty” Scott: Scotty is very loyal, traditional, and determined. He’s often known to lighten the mood of his crewmates, and work by his own methods but always fulfil the Captain’s expectations. He is known to sometimes get aggressive and impulsive, however, and is quite attatched to his scotch. He is sorted into Gryffindor House.
Starfleet-Houses » Icheb: Young and eager to learn, Icheb is good at looking at issues objectively and making wise decisions that will do the greatest good. He listens to Seven and the crew as his mentors, and goes along with them on their mission with the goal to expand his knowledge of the universe, and make use of his genius-level knowledge of astrometrics. He is sorted into Ravenclaw House.
Starfleet-Houses » Constable Odo: Odo is practically the definition of ‘just and loyal’. The pursuit of truth and justice is his central goal, and he is steadfastly loyal to the lawmakers. Even though those lawmakers may change, Odo remains steadfastly loyal to those who command him. He’s very grounded in his grouchy, misanthropic ways, and seems quite distant at first to everyone, but those who do get close to him make a steadfast, good and trustworthy ally. Being a detective - he’s also a good finder! He is sorted into Hufflepuff House.
Starfleet-Houses » Lieutenant Reginald Barclay: As a Slytherin, Reg sort of lacks confidence and charm, but he does have ambition, set goals he would put everything towards, and a rationing of his decent intelligence and cleverness towards his goals. During his touch with abnormal intelligence, he experiences an amplification of the person he could become. He’s pragmatic and definetly has his vices, his perfect fantasy world on the holodeck. He is absolutely relentless in the Pathfinder project, pragmatic, and pursues what he wants - his dream of being accepted into the Voyager crew as a friend - regardless of the limitations, going against what the authorities tell him to do. He is sorted into Slytherin House.
